HR Audit Report
Valdus concluded a major HR Audit with a multinational organisation to determine the overall efficacy of human resource operations, with a particular emphasis on time reporting accuracy and completeness. This included management’s procedures for verifying that the hours reported were worked and paid according to the right pay scale and differentials. A high-level examination of the hiring, recruiting, and terminating procedures was also included in the review.
Internal inspection For this evaluation, we used a risk-based process, which included the following steps:
- Reviewed policy and procedure documents pertaining to employee recruitment, employment, time reporting, and termination.
- Interviews with key HR people, scheduling, and payroll departments were conducted in order to acquire a thorough awareness of their processes, responsibilities, and risk management actions (e.g., management controls, policies and procedures, monitoring reports, etc.).
- Process maps for HR procedures were created, with risks and controls identified and gaps assessed. The maps were requested by management to aid in their process improvement initiatives.
- The operational efficacy of important controls that ensure compliance with business policies and procedures is assessed through corroboration, observation, and sample testing.
- Control flaws were discovered, as well as potential for operational improvement. Collaboration with management on action plans to improve the overall efficacy of risk management initiatives.
